Sharing Halloween with Lisabet Sarai - Welcome Darkness

Happy Halloween, Everyone and here's my Treat! The fabulous Lisabet Sarai is back darkening my doorstep—in the absolute best of waysand sharing her favourite holiday with us...

[31 October 2013]

Welcome, Darkness
By Lisabet Sarai

I'm thrilled to be here at my friend H.K.'s place to celebrate Halloween – my absolute favorite holiday.

When I was a child, I enjoyed All Hallow's Eve more for the costumes than the candy. I loved becoming someone else – a gypsy, a gargoyle, a princess, a pirate – leaving my shy, awkward, bookish self behind for a few marvelous hours of night-time adventure. In our family, we scorned store-bought attire, sometimes working on our Halloween disguises for weeks before the big night. And on November 1st, as my brother and I tallied our sweet haul, we were already discussing who we'd be next year.

As I reached adulthood, Halloween for me became associated with sex. Okay, I'll admit that during my twenties, sex colored pretty much everything in my life, but Halloween always seemed a particularly auspicious time for erotic encounters. The costume possibilities expanded to include slinky vamps and cat-women, scantily-attired genies and voluptuous she-demons. Halloween parties partook of some of the abandon of a Carnival masked ball. Leaving your mundane self behind for the night, you could also relinquish your inhibitions. Magic was afoot, kindling shadowy desire and promising fiery consummation.

What's the essence of All Hallow's Eve? It's the night when darkness comes out to play. Each of us has a dark side, no matter how much we might like to pretend we don't. Halloween calls to that side of our nature, luring it from the depths where we keep it hidden, tempting us to release it and revel in the chaos it might bring.

We externalize the darkness as ghouls and werewolves, specters and vampires. We find them fascinating, thrilling, not recognizing them as mirrors of our own lusts – for violence, for power, for pleasure. On Halloween, though, we're moved to welcome darkness, at least for a time, to stop acting as though we're 100% civilized – to let our inner beasts howl.

I haven't written that much dark fiction, but my M/M/F vampire ménage Fire in the Blood has a shadowy tone that seems appropriate for Halloween. One reviewer called it “edgy, dark and smoking hot”. Anyway, I thought I'd share a bit from that tale to help you celebrate your All Hallow's Eve.

Oh, and if you leave a comment with your email, I'll enter you in a drawing for a $20 bookstore certificate.

Happy Halloween!

In the heart of darkness, eternal passion burns.

Maddy and Troy hope that a care-free vacation in tropical Jamaica will re-ignite the passion in their five-year relationship. On a scenic mountain trail, Maddy's horse bolts and carries her deep into the jungle. Injured and lost, she is saved by a seductive giant of a man whose mere presence kindles unbearable lust. By the time she understands his dark nature, it is far to late for her to escape.

Bitter and alone, Etienne de Rémorcy haunts the forest around the ruined plantation of Fin d'Espoir. He has sworn to never again taste human blood, but when slender, raven-haired Madeleine begs him to take her, he cannot resist.

Troy is hugely relieved when Maddy makes her way back to their hotel after her ordeal in the mountains, but he finds her greatly changed—fiercely passionate in bed, restless and disturbed at other times. The tall, elegant stranger he meets on the beach hold the key to her transformation, and soon has seduced Troy as well. Even Etienne's most potent magic can't extinguish the fire in Troy's and Madeleine's blood.

Excerpt

Etienne dragged his belt from the loops of his dungarees. “Give me your hands,” he ordered. Madeleine held them out, palms turned upward in supplication. “I plan to bind you to ensure that you cannot escape me once we have begun. I will give you one more chance. Do you still want this?”

Maddy shivered, imagining herself restrained on the rough bed, powerless and at his mercy. Lust and fear warred in her body. Liquid dripped from her pussy, soaking the satiny robe bunched under her buttocks. She and Troy had played at bondage, silk scarves and velvet blindfolds. This was real.

She sought Etienne’s eyes, seeking reassurance. Fire flickered in the depths of those dark pools. His face was a beautiful mask that offered no solace. He gripped the belt in both hands, twisting as if testing it. “Et bien, Madeleine?”

She wanted it. She could not pretend otherwise. She wanted him, on any terms, wanted whatever he would do to her. Nothing mattered, not his terrifying strength, not his grim warnings, not the feeble image of Troy awaiting her back at the hotel. She reached for the bonds he offered. “Take me,” she whispered.

In an instant, he had slipped the end of the belt through the buckle and caught her wrists in the resulting loop. She felt the leather begin to bite into her skin as he pulled her arms above her head and a further tightness as he secured the other end to the metal bedstead. She tugged at the restraints, verifying the stark fact she could not, in fact, work herself free. Terror and arousal swept through her in alternating waves.

Her heart slammed against ribs. Her nipples and her clit throbbed with her pulse. Without being told, she spread her damp thighs. An oceany scent rose from her exposed pussy.

He shrugged off his vest and pushed his trousers down over his hips. Naked, he was even more formidable, his ebony thighs corded with muscle, his sculpted chest and flat belly gleaming like black marble. His erect cock sprang from the wiry thicket of his groin, on the same gigantic scale as the rest of his massive body.

The shaft looked thick as her wrist. Veins meandered along its endless dark length like creepers on a tree branch. The cap was dusky pink, taut, polished flesh that glistened with moisture.

Maddy moaned at the mere thought of that cock invading her. Saliva gathered in her mouth. “Etienne…” she pleaded, splaying her legs wider in lewd invitation. “Please…”

“Little harlot! Have you no shame?” Even as he chided her, however, the black giant climbed back onto the bed, positioning himself between her thighs.

She expected ferocity, his power unleashed. She imagined him forcing that awe-inspiring cock deep into her body. Instead, he bent his head and flicked his tongue along the sensitive skin on the inside of her knee.

“Ah…” Pleasure rippled through her, converging on her pussy. He licked again, moving upward, painting her with his cool saliva. She squirmed under his mouth, wanting to feel those thick lips on her aching clit. Gradually, he came closer to her centre, yet still he lingered on her thighs, kissing, nibbling, lapping up the juices that spilled from her hungry, empty sex. She arched up, pushing her pelvis towards him. Without effort, without removing his mouth, he forced her back onto the bed.

He rasped his tongue over the gash she’d received during her wild ride through the forest. Pain sliced into her cocoon of pleasure. The rum had probably disinfected the cut, but her bath had prevented it from clotting. His touch made it throb. When he licked again, the pain intensified.

“Ow! What are you doing?” Etienne ignored her. It felt as though he was probing the wound with his tongue, opening it further. “Wait! Don’t…”

Without warning, there was a hand dabbling in the moist folds at the entrance to her sex. A bolt of pleasure seared her. A finger rocked her clit back and forth, making her shudder and moan. Her lust flooded back, washing away the pain. She felt an odd pulling sensation at the wound site, and her nipples responded, as though he were sucking on those sensitive nubs instead of her thigh. He pushed several fingers deep into her pussy. She clenched around him. Delight rippled out to her extremities as the pull of his mouth intensified. Now she felt the suction in her clit as well as her breasts. Her whole body trembled, balanced on the edge of release.

Etienne plunged what felt like his whole hand into her depths. Something sharp tore into the flesh of her thigh. Her climax hit her, as sudden as a breaking storm, thundering through her, scattering every thought in its wake.

Before she could recover, he was on top of her, his cock nudging against her still-quaking opening, his face inches from hers. His eyes glowed with a fierce, wild light. His lips stretched wide in a grimace of triumph, exposing the pointed teeth of an animal. Blood smeared those lips—her blood. Its rusty scent mingled with his aura of roses. She shuddered, even as her pussy wept tears of new desire.

“Do you still want me, cherie?” he growled. “Now that you know what I am?” He ground his rock-hard erection against the softness at her centre, striking sparks that burned away her fear.

“Yes,” she had time to whisper, before he fastened his gore-stained lips on hers.

Totally Bound’s new anthology, “Whip It Up” includes six sexy BDSM stories about amorous antics in the kitchen, each one guaranteed to spice up your romantic fantasies. From cakes and canes to puddings and paddles, this hot read is sure to satisfy readers with even the most discriminating tastes.

Here’s the blurb for “Subterfudge” – my story in the “Whip It Up Anthology”:
When Roger asks his live-in sub Ashley to learn to cook she eagerly agrees, assuming it’s going to be a breeze. After all, she’s a bright, accomplished woman with a successful career—how hard can it be to prepare some food?

Once she’s up to her ears in cocoa and flour, Ashley realises cooking is more complicated than it looks. Finding ways to shortcut the process, Ashley dupes Roger into believing she’s a diva in the kitchen. But when he finds out she’s not the chef of his dreams, will he serve up a punishment fit for a saucy sub or will their relationship go up in flames?

Reader Advisory: This book contains anal sex, rimming, food play.

Excerpt:

Something soft and fluffy drifted up the inside of one of her legs, barely passing over her crotch before it glided down her other leg. It could have been a feather…a frilly, lush sensation. Yes, please.

“I know how much you like being tied up…do you think I need to do that to you tonight?”

“Yes, Sir.” Her voice quivered with need.

“Good thing I brought these, then.” He clutched her wrists and bound her with the familiar cloth restraints that he used with her so frequently. Her hands were confined above her head, their movement restricted to a few inches in each direction.

“Spread your legs for me.”

Ashley obeyed. The air in the room was chilly. A sense of vulnerability came over her. It reminded her of that feeling when you’re a patient in a cold, sterile hospital room.

Then she felt his mouth on her. She lurched and gasped for air when he buried his face in her mound. Tongue licking, nose nudging, teeth nipping, his hot breath coated her with his own lust. He had her quaking in moments.

She was on the verge of climax when he stopped.

Bastard! He’s teasing me. She was breathless, at the peak of arousal. He loves seeing me like a bitch in heat.

“I’m going to play with you with some unusual toys. I want you to try and guess what they are. I will help you along, but you give your best guess. Ready?”

“Yes, Sir.” She nodded.

Thwack! She felt something on the inside of her leg. What is that?

“Keep your legs spread.” His voice issued a warning.

“Yes, Sir. Sorry, Sir.”

More swats from the unknown implement. That feels familiar. What is it? When have I felt it before?

Then a swat to her pussy woke her up. The sting wasn’t terrible, but it definitely brought the blood to the surface and made her cry out.

“What am I smacking you with, little sub?”

“I’m not sure…”

Guest Willa Edwards Author of Dirty Work

Could Mr. Wrong really be Mr. Oh-So-Right?

We all like different types of men. Some women like bald men, running their fingers of a smooth round scalp, while others crave thick curly hair all over their men, head, chest, back. Some women like tall and thin men, while others like stocky men covered with muscles. Every women has a different idea of who her Mr. Right is and what traits he might possess, whether its a man who works with his hands, or a man whos better with equations than car motors. Every woman has a different idea of what Mr. Right should look like, and that was the whole basis of my Naughty Holiday List series.

One night, five women, Callie, Mallory, Krista, Amy and Giselle, all write down what they want in a man. They create lists of everything they want in their Mr. Right, very different lists, detailing different needs, and wants. And throughout the course of their stories theyve all found those men.

Put what if the men you want are not the men you think you should want? Thats the issue that Giselle has to deal with in Dirty Work. She wants Garrett. Hes a working man, with oil under his fingernails and grease on his face. But after having several relationships with these kind of men, Giselle thinks she should move on and start dating a different kind of men. Men who spend more time sitting at a computer and working with numbers than car engine parts.

But can you deny who youre attracted to? Can you really change the type of man that is your Mr. Right? And will Garrett give Giselle that chance? To find out, youll have to read Dirty Work now available with Siren Publishing.

Blurb

As her friend's wedding approaches, Giselle Rossini feels more discouraged than ever. She's not where she wanted to be in life. She loves her job, but longs for something else to fill her days.

When she walks into her ex-sweetheart Garrett at her school, declaring he's the new auto shop teacher and he wants her back, Giselle finds her last refuge quickly vanishing. Years ago she loved Garrett, but all he did was break her heart and prove to her men are all the same.

Garrett Montgomery never stopped loving Giselle. And now he's back, determined to work his way into her life. He's not surprised Giselle isn't ready to welcome him back into her arms, but he'll do anything to earn her trust again. Garrett's never been afraid of a little hard work, especially when it includes some dirty talking and getting naughty in the backseat of a car.

But can he break through Giselle's perfect impregnable shell and into her heart, or will the labor be too much for him to withstand?

Excerpt

Giselle stared down at the list. The homemade paper was rough in her hands. The smell of pine and rose petals wafted from the page. The bright holiday ornaments and snowflakes stared up at her mockingly.

Ever since shed created the list with her friends nine months ago the items cataloged on the holiday paper taunted her. It had seemed like such a fun idea, writing lists of the qualities your dream man would possess, with the hope that man would then find his way to your life. All her friends had been successful with it. One by one theyd all fallen under the spell. Each finding their own version of happiness. All of them, except her.

She dropped the list to her desk, right beside the invitation for Callie and Erics wedding, releasing a deep sigh. Only another day until the big event and no matter how hard she tried she couldnt get excited about it. At least not as excited as she should be. She was the party planner, the event organizer. She should be in her element, but it felt forced, like she was going through the motions.

All her friends had found happiness with someone they loved. She should be happy for them. And she was. But it didnt stop the pang in her heart that throbbed with her own loneliness. Or the quiet voice in the back of her head that wondered if there was something wrong with her, something unlovable.

Shed never thought shed be the one whose life revolved around work. She thought shed be married by now, maybe have a few kids. But life hadnt worked out that way. Instead, she was at the school three days before the new year began, categorizing her supplies, and determining what she needed to order before the curriculum began. At least her students benefited. Most of them could out cook Rachel Ray with all shed taught them.

How had she become this person? She was pretty sure she hadnt always been this focused on work. It certainly wasnt who she wanted to be, but she had no clue how to change it.

Giselle shoved the last of the flour, sugar, salt and baking soda back into the cabinet and noted the remaining ingredients she needed for the blueberry muffins she always made the first day of class with her Home Ec students, before grabbing her purse and heading toward the door. Shed promised to meet Callie early to finish decorating the pavilion in the park where she was to be married. Tonight was the rehearsal dinner and Giselle had promised to make sure the event went off without a hitch so Callie could enjoy herself.

Not that she had a choice. No one else would be able to help Callie as well as she could. She couldnt stand the idea of having to spend all day tomorrow looking at someone elses lopsided flower arrangements or mismatched table linens. She shuddered at the thought of her best friend drinking out of plastic champagne glasses.

The sound of her heels clicking across the floor echoed through the empty halls. The rest of the teachers were off enjoying what remained of their summer vacation before the horde of hyper kids, helicopter parents and school board demands usurped all their time. Every teacher with a life, that is.

Giselle turned the corner, and the clang of metal coming from the auto shop lab piqued her interest. She smiled. She wasnt the only one without a life.

They must have hired the new teacher. After Mr. Miller retired, James, one of her best friends husbands and the middle school vice principal, had revealed theyd decided to go a different way with the position. He mentioned hiring someone with less teaching experience and more real life experience. Giselle assumed that meant someone willing to work for less. Given how their school budget continued to dwindle, she didnt blame him.

Curiosity getting the best of her, she snuck a peek toward the shop. The door hung wide open, giving her a good view of the cluttered room.

The new teacher was bent over, picking up a tool beside the broken down Ford Taurus they used for the kids to practice on. Her stomach flip flopped and her temperature rose as she stared at the delicious sight of the new shop teacher before her. Shed have to compliment James on the new hire. Hed made a very nice choice.

Giselle leaned back against the door jamb to admire the picture before her. She didnt often ogle men, she just wasnt that type of girl, but the sight before her was too good to ignore. His worn jeans cupped a very nice, well-formed ass. His thick masculine body would have all the female teachers interested in learning how to change their own oil.

Shed always loved manly guys, men who worked with their hands. It had gotten her into trouble more times than she could recall. Shed tried to be attracted to a man who spent more time behind a computer screen and reading books than he spent with grease beneath his fingernails, but so far it hadnt worked. Yet another reason she was here today, instead of curled in bed with someone special.

He stood and Giselle smiled, walking further into the room. Now seemed as good a time as any to introduce herself to her new coworker. Maybe shed offer to show him around the school, introduce him to all the other teachers. Her mood lightened and a small smile leapt to her face. Didnt most people meet their significant other at work? Maybe the universe was finally working for her. Maybe this was her chance to meet her future husband. The next wedding they attended could be hers.

His back came into view, a dark red T-shirt spread across his broad shoulders. His blond hair spiked around his head, perfect for running her fingers through. She hoped he had brown eyes. Shed always been a sucker for a pair of dark eyes.

He turned around and Giselle gasped, all the air leaving her lungs in one large gust. She reached her hand out, grabbing hold of the doorframe to keep upright. The edges of her vision darkened.
“Hi, Dixie.” He grinned at her. His big foolish smirk knotted her insides, the drawl from his Georgia roots highlighting the nickname he’d given her over eight years ago, on their first date. “Its great to see you again.”

My Sexy Saturday ~ The rules are simple
Post 7 paragraphs or 7 sentences or 7 words from a WIP or published work

With a little prompt from our wonderful MSS host Lynn, this week's My Sexy Saturday is how your characters fall in love. So I picked one of my favourites, Niall and Rose from You Found Me, a Scottish/British historical romance.

She looked toward the voice. Niall was by the window, holding the babe upright with the tiny blond head snuggled against his cheek. The rest of his little body fitted against Niall’s massive chest, held by his strong gentle hands.
She fell in love, right there and then, with the pair of them. Her heart pounded in her chest, her mind swirling. She could not live without them; they were hers. Her men. The pair of them looked so right together. Her son’s paleness against Niall’s darkness. But she knew in her heart it was all wrong. She must tell Niall the truth, she thought for the thousandth time. She owed it to him. He had given everything of himself and more. Honesty, acceptance, security, and his love, and how had she repaid him? With omission and silence.

As the writer, I fell in love with Niall long before I wrote this scene.  Sigh...
And Lynn, I apologize again for breaking the 7 rule! ;)
Perhaps I should stop posting the rules, or ya know, obey them. :)

#MySexySaturday Pushing the Boundaries

#MSSWeek21

My Sexy Saturday ~ The rules are simple
Post 7 paragraphs or 7 sentences or 7 words from a WIP or published work

Welcome to the 21st week of My Sexy Saturday.
Have you ever read a book that pushes the boundaries on sex? Maybe the characters do something a little unusual, a little different. Or maybe the characters just push their boundaries when making a play for someone because they want them in their lives. Let’s face it, all characters take risks when trying to win their mate. Sometimes it’s so hot, it sizzles the pages. Sometimes it’s that quiet moment alone in front of a fire. Wherever and whatever it may be, or the characters may do, it’s agreed that writers love to share those moments with you. Join us this week as we share some of those red light sexy encounters be they tame, hot or sizzling.

The highlighted sentence in the paragraph above provided by our lovely My Sexy Saturday Blog Hop hostess Lynn, caught my attention. Because for Hailey and Mike, from my erotic romance Swap; trying to fight their attraction is nearly impossible and not only do they push the boundaries physically and morally, so did I in writing this book. But being my first one, I was completely unaware that I'd been bucking one of the long unwritten rules of writing romance. Absolutely, No Cheating. You see, Hailey is married to Mike's brother, Brent (Mike is also entangled). I think that qualifies as risk-taking and boundary pushing. Ahh, ignorance is bliss!

I looked up at him, wanting a repeat of the other night. Was he having the same thoughts? I knew he was aroused. I didn’t even have to look. I could see the desire in his eyes. It made my skin prickle with raw heat. He just kept standing there, as if he didn’t want to leave. Do it, Michael, I encouraged him in my head. He wanted it, too. I could see it. Or was I just wishing for it to be there?

What would he do if I made the first move? Ripped at his clothes, sank to my knees in front of him and took his jutting cock into my mouth, leaving him no options? I knew he wouldn’t be able to resist it. Why couldn’t I just seize my chance? Why couldn’t I just tempt him, push him right over the edge of control?

I hope you enjoyed this extraction from Swap. Don't forget to check out the rest of this week's My Sexy Saturday participants from the list below.

Have a Sexy Saturday!

The Finding Home Series Book 3 Airos by @_JenWright

It is my great pleasure to welcome back author of the Finding Home Series
Jennifer Wright...

Thank you for having me as a guest today, HK!

Ive been asked a few questions lately about my Finding Home Series, and a regular one seems to be, how do your vampires and dragons differ from others? Well, considering I havent read every book out there that have vampires and dragons in them, I think Id be better off just laying out who they are in my stories, and maybe someone will see something that sets them apart.

Lets start with the vampires. Where the general thought of a vampire is that theyre undead made by being bitten by a vampire my vampires are born. They are their own species, not something that is created by a virus or some such thing as that. Also, like other vampires, they do need human blood to survive, but my vampires also need regular food (this Im sure Ive seen in another book as well, but isnt as common). Their strength, acute senses and speed are also like other vampires, but Ive added a few other things in like some vampires cry blood, and some vampires eyes can shift which allows them to see portals that other vampires cant see. Also, like in Zanes case, vampires can be half-breeds of both vampire and human Im sure you can figure out how that happens. ;)

Now, the Dráguns/dragons. I think I confused a few people with these guys, so hopefully thisll help. The species is the dragons, and Dráguns are dragons with a unique gene in them that they are born with. Dráguns are only male, and they only change from dragons to Dráguns when they hit manhood at that age the gene inside them is more or less activated, turning them permanently into Dráguns. Drágun, like dragons, still look like human but they have solid black eyes (red ones when theyre angry). Dráguns are much stronger than dragons and they hold a higher superiority over dragons. The biggest difference between the two is that Dráguns can shift into an actual animal dragon form (think fire breathing dragons in fairytales), whereas dragons are only ever in a human form. Also, one way to tell dragons apart from humans, is that every dragon has yellow or amber colored irises.

Lastly, the mages. They really are like any other magical being, but go by different names by gender. All of the women are just known as witches. Children are referred to as witches, but, when they get older and their magic becomes stronger, the males become wizards, or warlocks if theyre really powerful. One things that stands out between the mages is that certain ones can be born with a special ability such as a healing power, being able to read minds, or, in Elis case, being able to move things with their mind. One other thing is that they live a little longer than humans.

And there you have it. Hopefully this helps. :)

Thank you, again, HK, for hosting me today!

Hope yall enjoy this little teaser from my most recent release, Airos: Finding Home Series book 3, which you can buy and read today at Totally Bound! This offer goes through to November 14th, where its then on general release (buy it from Amazon, ARe, B&N, etc) on November 15th.

Book blurb:

Zane has everything in his life under control and in order, but can he keep it that way when a young dragon is thrown into his life?
Zane was meant to be a warriorend of story. Though he may not have had the most pleasant life living at the coven, he still loved being there. But the steadiness of his world came to a halt all within one days events. A man he never saw coming has pushed the boundaries of what little normalcy he has, and learning of a secret love is just confusing him even more. Zane has never felt more torn on what he should be feeling…and for whom. Though, if he assumed having two men plaguing his every waking thought was hard enough, learning of the danger his mother is in nearly has his head spinning off into another dimension.
The leader of the Dráguns is threatening to take everything away from him, his best friend is slipping further and further away from him, and a little dragon is managing to get under his skin in more ways than one. Sorting out what he has to do, what he wants, and whats right for him will be the biggest challenge hes ever been faced with. Will he follow his heart or will he take the easy path…or is the easy path the right path to begin with?

Excerpt:

Zane forced himself to put one foot in front of the other. His mind was reeling so badly he could barely focus on walking. He couldnt believe hed kissed Bo. What had he been thinking?
Just being in the room with Bo had clouded his thoughts, his determination. When the man had stood up, naked and shiny from the water glistening on his skin, Zanes senses had faded even more. But the fierceness in the dragons words as hed yelled at him, crowding him until he could retreat no more…well, Zane wasnt sure hed ever felt that turned on before, and he hadnt been able to stop himself from reaching out and pulling Bo closer.
Deep in his mind, hed been screaming at himself to stop, that he shouldnt be doing it, but the desire had outweighed it, smothering it.
Zanes body vibrated at the memory of Bos hot skin beneath his touch. That small, lithe body wrapped around himpressed against him. The sweet taste of Bos mouth had nearly done him in. He had been ready to take Bo right then and there.
He wasnt quite sure what it had been that had pulled him back, that had made him realize what hed been doing, but his next thought had been to get out of there as quickly as possible.
He didnt know what to do anymore. Hed never felt so confused. The only thing he could think of to do was to talk to Larkenhis friend had always been there for him.
Zane came to an abrupt halt in the middle of the hallway.
Oh gods, Larken.
Zane felt sick to his stomach. With everything that had been happening, he hadnt even thought about his friend. Larken had been there when he ran outside, and must have been there when hed come back in, but Zane had been so focused on Bo he hadnt even thought of Larken. He couldnt even imagine what the man was going throughfinding out his best friend was a half-breed.
Swallowing down his guilt and regret, he continued, hoping Larken would give him the chance to explain.

Author bio:

I was born in Arizona, but have spent the better part of my life in Wisconsin.  While I enjoy living close to my family, my heart longs to live in the South or anywhere where the winters are warmer, and I hope to someday get there.  I love writing, and try to dedicate as much of my free time to it (ha! what free time?).  If Im not typing away on my laptop, youll find me with my nose buried in a book, or with my loving boyfriend debating on what movie to watch and the never ending back and forth decision of what we should have for dinner.  I love spending time with my family and boyfriend, cuddling with my two cats, and laughing as much as possible (cuz I like to think I'm funny :-D).

Some little tidbits about me are I love horses and cats, I have a really big sweet-tooth, and I've been told I like to talk with my hands (insert hand gestures here).
