A NEW and Bestselling Release from Noelle Keaton The Billionaire’s Network @noellekeaton #mmromance

Please welcome back my friend and fellow author Noelle Keaton, with her latest and bestselling release, The Billionaire's Network!

Thanks H K for having me back to Pick A Genre Already to share….

My Billionaire Obsession

Okay, obsession might be going a bit far in describing how I feel about billionaires.  However, after writing seven different stories featuring billionaires as the heroes, there’s no denying that my interest in them is more than casual.  I attribute my fascination to a couple of things.

Billionaires have a certain mystique about them.  To me, they always appear powerful and in control, seemingly untouchable.  That’s why it is fun to create stories that speculate as to what goes on behind the cool, calm, and collected surface.

I also find myself wondering what kinds of problems billionaires would have amidst their endless wealth.  What kind of problems could a person have when they have enough money to buy anything their heart desired?  Well, the search for love, problems of miscommunication, and the desire to find a soul mate are common themes and goals in the lives of people from each end of the economic strata as well as those in between.  It’s just that these struggles among the billionaire set happen to intrigue me enough to keep writing stories about them.  J

I hope you enjoy the excerpt from my latest e-book, The Billionaire’s Network, which is available at the Evernight Publishing and Amazon.

The Billionaire’s Network EXCERPT:

“We can’t do this,” Wes said moments before Rick’s lips brushed against his. While only the briefest of contacts, the mere touch sent sparks shooting through Wes that went straight to his dick, which started to throb.

“We’re not doing anything except getting reacquainted.”

Rick’s hand moved from Wes’ shoulder to a caress down his back, and rested near his tailbone. The motion sent an involuntary shudder down Wes’ spine, and he took another step back again.

“The situation is complicated enough with you buying NBS, which makes me your employee. I don’t think we should mess things up further by trying to pick up where we left off fifteen years ago. It would be a train wreck in the making.” Wes realized he was speaking too fast, and not making much sense. But he wanted to stay ahead of his own desires, which were demanding that he strip off his clothes and hop into the nearest bed with Rick.

“My owning NBS has nothing to do with what’s going on between us here and now, except that it brought us to this place here and now. If you don’t want anything to happen between us, that’s fine, but don’t use NBS as an excuse. Just tell me what you’re truly feeling, and we’ll figure out where to go from there.”

You make it sound so simple, Wes wanted to tell him. But then, nothing had ever been easy between them and he had no right to believe that would have changed all these years later. Underlying all their conflicts, a heated desire and yearning for each other always lingered. It was the reason he’d never been able to forget Rick, and why he found it impossible to walk away now.

Blurb:

No one is more surprised than network news anchor Wes Henley when his ex-boyfriend, media mogul and billionaire Rick Sheridan, buys the network where he works. Though it’s been fifteen years since their bitter breakup, it isn’t long before Wes and Rick rediscover their former passion for each other.

But their burgeoning relationship is threatened when Rick’s plans for the network tests Wes’ loyalty to his newsroom colleagues. Wes is forced to decide whether his love for Rick and hopes for their future together outweigh his dedication to his job and allegiance to his coworkers.

The Anniversary Edition #MySexySaturday - I Came For You #erotic #romanticsuspense

Our Sexy Year ~ @MySexySaturday #MySexySaturday #OurSexyYear

Welcome to the 52nd week of My Sexy Saturday.

Wow! A whole year we’ve been entertaining people with our little bit of sexy. We say, let’s go for another one!!!

This is really all about the authors and readers this week. There’s no theme except to say that we are celebrating each and every one of you. And because this is in the middle of summer, we couldn’t decide on just what we wanted to do to celebrate, so we decided to hold off for you until Halloween or Christmas…decisions, decisions…we can’t decide which.

So…why don’t you all help us to decide…do you want our anniversary celebration to be held around Halloween or at Christmas? Either way, we’ll have fun and prizes galore…but you need to give us a hint here…and you can tell us by sending us an email at mysexysaturday@gmail.com with a subject line of ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION and tell us what you want. We’ll keep you posted on the outcome!

This week, all we want you to do is to share a sexy tidbit about anything your heart desires.

Well, since anything goes this week, I'm going with the sexiest character I've ever had the pleasure to write... the dark dangerous, exotically sexy and arrogant, Victor Mayhue. Irresistible with a capital I

Here's a snippet from Misfortune of Birth Book Three in the Always Cambridge Series. I came for you...

I lifted Randi right off her feet. Her softness flattened out against my chest as I enjoyed her hot sweet mouth. I’d never been with someone as tiny as she was. I usually liked my women with a nice healthy booty as well as a bust. Everything about Randi was so compact, petite. Not that she didn’t have great tits. I’d admired all of her assets longingly on the yacht. Or as she bent over the desk at work. She was just so small, I was afraid I might hurt her. She was like a china doll and I was a bull.

“This. Is. So. Wrong,” she mumbled between kisses but she made no attempt to quit or let me go. I could have cheered in jubilation if I wasn’t so busy.
I set her on her feet though, giving her the choice. I could still step away from her now, if that was what she wanted, but not after much more. She clung to my shoulders.

“It might be wrong, but it feels so fuckin’ good,” I said, running my lips over her jaw and down her neck. Slowly, I began to unbutton her blouse. Her hands covered mine, stopping the action. I could have groaned out loud. This was the end. I’d moved too fast. Or maybe too slow. Perhaps I should have had her on the verge of something big before I’d attempted to take off her clothes. I could have had her begging. I looked down at her. Her gaze roamed over my mouth. I ran my tongue over my lower lip, slowly, shamelessly. Again, she bit her lip in that familiar gesture. I ran my thumb over it, smoothing her teeth away. “Hey, quit abusin’ that thing. I’m not done with it yet.”
I lowered my head and she shocked the shit out of me again, by letting me. I thought she’d been about to call it off. Could it really be this easy?

“I’m not thinking about Alex or Julie either,” she said against my mouth. It was the only way to talk, since neither one of us seemed to want to let the other go.
But I did stop. Confused. “Huh?”

“You’re right, it does feel fuckin’ good.” The expletive coming from her sweet lips caused my cock to jerk. “You’ve been drinking. You’re not thinking clearly. I don’t want you to regret this later on when you’re more yourself. I should go.”

I couldn’t believe her. She was concerned for me? “I’m not that drunk,” I defended. “You’re not taking advantage of me if that’s what you’re worried about. I know what’s going on here. I know precisely what I’m doing. I know exactly what you’re doing, and you’re doing it very well. I wanna fuck. Pure and simple.”

All of a sudden, her expression dulled. “And anyone will do?” she asked, cautiously.

“No. Not anyone will do. You. I need and want you. I came looking for you. There were lots of willing women at the bars. But I can’t think of anyone these days, but you. I can smell you. I can taste you. I wake up in the middle of the night and I think I’ve already had you. Maybe I’m taking advantage of you. I know you’re not happy with Alex. It’s why I came to the office—I came for you.”

#MySexySaturday - One Sexy Irishman #mmromance

My Sexy Howl ~ @MySexySaturday #MySexySaturday #MSS51

Welcome to the 51st week of My Sexy Saturday.

This week is all about my sexy howl.  And you all know what we mean…don’t you?

It’s all about the shifters this week. Those sexy beings that howl in the night. Or in the day when necessary. Shifters are downright sexy and if you have one, we want to see them.

This snip is from an upcoming release, part of the Wild Darkness Calls Collection. This excerpt comes from my series of short stories (the Lustful Possession Series) Book 5 Dark Seed. A little m/m action. I'm not saying Joel is a shifter— at this point in the story, we don't know exactly what he is, other than one sexy feckin' Irishman!

Completely naked, Mishel lounged with Joel in his bed after some intense rough and tumble sex. Letting his hand turn circles on Joel’s sculpted chest, Mish moved, looming over his lover. “Are ya ever gonna tell me about yourself?”

Inhaling deeply, Joel moved out from under him and stood, pulling on a pair of boxers. Mish followed him.

“You obviously have a gift...”

“A gift,” Joel scoffed. “Ya had it more right the day when ya asked me what I was. And ya might want ta dress now, because I’m certain, you’ll be runnin’ the opposite direction when I’ve finished.”

Gripping Joel’s shoulders tightly, Mish looked into his eyes. “You seem to know what I’m thinking and feeling at all times. I think you know I’ve no intention of going anywhere. Even though I question why you work for Haydn O’Conner, I’m still not inclined to run.”

Joel searched Mish’s gaze. “Men are usually afraid of me. Ya never have been. As you say, even though ya have questions, your mind is open. But then again, ya have a bit of protection tha’ I have not seen with most humans.”
“Oh?” Mish leaned forward in interest.

I hope you enjoyed this little teaser from my upcoming release. Don't forget to check out the other MSS authors from the list below.

Special Guest Historical Fiction Author David Cook @DavidCookAuthor

Please Welcome David Cook—'A New Voice' in historical fiction...

My thanks to David for agreeing to submit to my version of an author interview.

What was your favourite book as a child/teenager?

I would say Tolkien's 'The Hobbit' and Robin McKinley's 'The Outlaws of Sherwood'. Both came at a time when I was beginning to enjoy reading rather than having to read at school. I was learning to love books.

Who was the first author or what was the first book you read that introduced you to the genre that you most enjoy writing in?

In my teens I received Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe's Siege book for a Christmas present from my dad and I was hooked on the Napoleonic era. It has started a well, I won't give my age away, but its more than twenty-five years of love for that period of history.

Is there a particular word you overuse or writing technique that your editor(s) ride you about?

I think I have too many passive voices, or basic grammar issues that gets passed these eyes. So i try to get other people to help. I run a free software programme called Editminion before giving it to friends (social media friends and colleagues rather than intimate ones) to critique. From there is goes through about 8-10 versions until i'm happy with it. Liberty or Death, my debut novella, I used the services of 3 people to review , then a professional editor overhauled it. Heart of Oak, I ended up using 10 people to review it.

Have you ever suffered from writer’s block? (Or do you even believe in it?) If so, how were you able to overcome it?

I don't believe in it to be frank. I think writers just need to change what they're doing. Write something different, use another style and setting. I have days when I can't move past certain plots. I sometimes struggle to think of a sentence, but I keep at it.

I do believe in taking breaks too. Long walks in fresh air. Visit something different. Stuck at the screen for too long is unhealthy.

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?

For me it would be the convenience of everyday life, but secluded far away. At the time of this interview, I'm living the British Midlands. It'll do for now.

If you could bring one of your own characters to life, who would it be and why?

I would say Benedict of Sherwood, from my unpublished story of Robin Hood. He is very me, but far better in every way possible. He lived a full life and would have lots of interesting things to say.

What are you reading right now?

I'm reading a host of non-fiction about the Battle of Waterloo. I won't bore you, but I have a large number of books on the subject and I'm researching for my novella in The Soldier Chronicles series about the campaign. My desk is cluttered with tomes.

Fiction - I am reading James Aitcheson's Norman Conquest series, G.R.R. Martin's A Song of Fire and Ice (Game of Thrones) and Bernard Cornwell's Making of England series.

When you read, do you prefer a stand-alone or a series?

No preference. As long as it grips me.

What is the craziest, most exciting, or most dangerous thing you’ve ever done?

I wear my heart on my sleeve. I moved from the UK to Iceland to be with my then girlfriend where I stayed for 3 years. That was exciting. Many years later and with a different partner I got married, and became a father. It's all crazy, dangerous and exciting!

What is your favourite way to promote or connect with fans?

I've only just started out so I've been trying facebook, Goodreads and Twitter mainly. I try to get my name out there where possible and love to answer questions from anyone. And I had good success with fans on helping to choose my second novella's ebook cover on facebook. I advertised on a facebook group a free read of an unpublished story in the Napoleonic series and had sixty requests to read it. It's not a bad start for someone unknown.

As a writer, I can’t stick to one genre. I write what moves me at the moment. I follow the muse, inspiration, whatever you want to call it. Hence the name of this blog. And I’m always fascinated to know if it is the same for other writers who genre hop like I do. And since I have David on the hot seat, I’m gonna put it to him. The question, that is. Naughty minds! I know he’s thinking of breaking genre, so David, my question is, Why? :)

I have a few ideas in my head for other genres. I won't name them all at this time, but I think they work so for me, it doesn't matter what genre the story falls under. It's whether the story is good enough for people to like.

I also know, David self publishes. I know a lot of authors are going this way. I think it is incredibly brave. What made you self-pub? Can you share the pros and cons as you have found so far? And what advice would you give a writer who is thinking of going that route?

I sent off a story (in my head its 12 volumes in the series) to agents back in 2008. In the lull of the big wait to find out if I had representation, I wrote back stories which form The Soldier Chronicles - snapshots of military men, spanning the years between 1794-1815. Then I didn't get anywhere with it, so instead, slightly despondent, I wrote the Robin Hood story which is based on the oldest records we have. A different style, first person. I wrote that between 2009-2013 - in the meantime getting married and becoming a father, plus relocating and changing jobs - tough slog .

By 2013 I hadn't gotten anywhere with that story either so going through my stories I looked into self-publishing. I was happy with the work, found a graphic designer and started with Amazon. I'm now with Amazon and publish through Smashwords too. It's been a learning curve, the formatting side. Getting it right - I've certainly sweated over it.

The ebook covers have been fun to choose and involve the fans as I said earlier. I will continue to self-publish - I'm not in it for the money, I want to build reputation first and grow.

Blood on the Snow is to be released in September on all ebook formats and is the third in The Soldier Chronicles series. It's a story of bravery and self-sacrifice against impossible odds. The fourth will follow in January.

Author Bio:

David Cook is from Chandlers Ford, Hampshire, but now lives in Leicestershire with his wife and young son.

David has been interested in history since his school days, and developed a love for the Napoleonic Wars era from his father, who painted and amassed a lead model army of the Battle of Waterloo. From there, David became fascinated with The English Civil Wars, the Wars of the Roses and English medieval history, particularly the legend of Robin Hood. David is writing a novel entitled The Wolfshead, a story of Robin, but based on the original medieval ballads as the source.

Heart of Oak (The Soldier Chronicles Book 2)

It is December, 1799, and Captain of Marines Simon Gamble has been sent behind enemy lines to capture an impregnable fortress called Dominance on the Maltese island of Gozo.

Gamble must lead his lightly-armed men against the prime veteran soldiers of France, in a daring and brutal fight where there can only be one winner.
Success means freedom for the Gozitans from their French oppressors; failure means the marines face an unmarked grave on foreign soil.

A hero and a soldier to some, but certainly no gentleman, Gamble; battle-scarred and haunted by the horrific bloodshed at the Siege of Acre prior to this mission, must fight a new guileful enemy, even if the price means death or dishonour.

This is Gamble's toughest fight yet, and one he knows he cannot afford to fail.

For the ultimate battle will be for revenge.

Heart of Oak, is an authentic historical story set during the liberation of the Maltese Islands, the second novella in The Soldier Chronicles series.

#MySexySaturday Polyamorous Love Streetlight People Style #MFF #ménage

Happy 50th Week My Sexy Saturday!

Make Sexy ~ @MySexySaturday #MSS50 #Saturday7

Welcome to the 50th week of My Sexy Saturday.

This week is all about making sexy.

Make sexy can mean a variety of things. It can mean making love or making the one you love feel sexy. It can be a single person, a loving couple or a polyamorous group determined to make sure everyone feels loved and wanted.

This week's snip comes from MFF ménage Streetlight People

The bed dipped with Toni’s weight and I felt her body spoon against my side—and Street’s too, since he was mostly on top of me. I felt her warm breath on my skin and I tensed. “It’s okay, baby,” Street soothed. “It’s gonna feel so good.”

But I wasn’t scared anymore. I tensed, more in anticipation than fear. And the only thought that kept running through my head was that I wouldn’t be able to stand it. I might not get the chance to enjoy it at all. I was so turned on. I was so hot. My cunt was already on fire and eager, nerve endings rippling with the electricity of what was to come.

They worked in tandem, as if they’d choreographed it, or it was practised. I remembered Street saying that Toni had picked me. Did that mean they did this often? Just picked up some stranger on the street corner and took them home to play with? I didn’t want to think about that right now. I’d think on it later, when there weren’t two different tongues laving my nipples.

I looked down at them. Toni flicked my right nipple with her delicate pink tongue, while Street lapped at the left, his caress not as soft but just as arousing. They made eye contact and seemed to communicate silently, making their tongues do exactly the same tormenting, slow circuit, followed by a rapid flicking rhythm that had me teetering on the edge of a major orgasm. My hips moved of their own accord, twisting and grinding under Street’s hard body.

All of a sudden they stopped licking me and I watched as their heads drew together. Their lips met and I looked on as their tongues began to tangle.

I gasped at being left hanging, needing, wanting. Just as quickly, as if with one mind, they broke apart and licked a path softly, teasingly, down my stomach. My belly clenched and shuddered in response. I fell back onto the pillow and closed my eyes against the violent need snaking through me. One of them paused at my belly button and teased it maddeningly, giving me a preview of what I might expect on my burning clit—if they ever got that far. I just might explode at the thought of it before they’d even travelled that short distance.

The snap on my jeans was released for the second time tonight and one of them unzipped me. I lifted my hips and they stripped me of my jeans and panties. I was completely naked now. I couldn’t believe I was doing this, but thought I would die if we stopped now.

I hope you enjoyed this week's excerpt. Don't forget to check out the amazing MSS authors below!

#MySexySaturday Holly Cambridge Kicks Ass over another Woman's Man! #AlwaysCambridge

One Sexy Lady ~ @MySexySaturday #MSS49 #Saturday7

Welcome to the 49th week of My Sexy Saturday.
This week is all about our sexy heroines. You know the gals we’re talking about.  We’re talking about those ladies who may start as a timid mouse and by the end of the book, we hear them roar. Or how about those heroines are kick-ass from the get-go.

My Snippet this week comes from the 3rd book in the
Always Cambridge Series - Misfortune of Birth

Set up: Two women + One irresistible man + a shit-disturbing older bother = fisticuffs in the office parking lot

“You bastard!” Julie screamed and pulled her arm back to strike Victor a third time, but he grabbed her arm before she could. I’d never seen that look on his face before. I’d never seen him quite that angry before. His eyes were almost black. His teeth jammed together, pulling his bronzed skin tight over his jaw.

“Lorenzo! You promised me,” Julie whined.

Lorenzo sighed loudly, almost as if he were bored now. He inspected a fingernail. “Hold him,” he ordered.

“Fer fuck!” Victor cursed, right before Julie hauled off and hit him one more time.

“How do you like it, Victor? Being hurt and humiliated in front of everyone?”

I saw her fist clench. “No,” I breathed. I was not going to let her punch him. Everyone had their attention on Julie and Victor, so they didn’t have time to stop me.

I ran up behind and immobilized her arm in midair. I scooped my foot in front of her legs, tossing her to the ground. I forgot all about not trying to hurt her. The rage I felt at her for slapping his beautiful face blinded me to anything else. I dropped forearm after forearm about her head and shoulders. Vaguely, I acknowledged the steel bindings in my brace, but I didn’t care.

The Always Cambridge Series chronicles the life of Holly Cambridge through her tumultuous childhood, violent teen years into adulthood, and the consequences that stem from being the daughter of mob boss, Bill Cambridge.                                                                          * * * *

When constantly surrounded by violence, corruption and immorality, how do you keep from becoming the very thing that you abhor?

Holly Cambridge barely recognizes herself anymore. Pretending to be another person is beginning to wear thin. Disguised as Randi Yates, she entangles herself into the perilous life of the irresistible Victor Mayhue. But day by day, she falls more desperately and impossibly in love with her natural enemy. Together they explore a highly sexual, dark and dangerous relationship. The lines between right and wrong and good and evil, begin to blur. And while attempting to shield and protect Victor from the Feds and even his own family, Holly loses sight of her original goal.

Victor understands her more than anyone she’s ever met. Essentially they have lived the same life. He is her other half. But once he discovers who she really is and what she’s done, there will be no going back. Victor Mayhue is not a second chance kind of guy.

And in the end, one of them will be forced to face their true nature.

EXCERPT: Always Cambridge 4 Law and Order : Crime and Chaos

I scaled the fire escape up to the roof at Lorenzo’s club. I never thought I’d do this again. I stayed in the shadows making my way carefully to Victor’s room. I opened the door quietly. It was dark. I got that cold feeling on the back of my neck. But too late. In my haste and need to see Victor, I’d ignored all my intuition.

The door snapped around, catching my right arm. It hurt but the steel shunts in my brace took the brunt of it.

“Get in there, bitch, he’s waitin’.”

I was pushed forcefully into the room. What was happening? Was he so angry with me he was finally going to retaliate? This didn’t make sense, though. I knew even if he despised me, he wouldn’t hurt me. This was all wrong.

There was a man seated in a chair in the far corner of the darkened room. I focused in on him as two goons grabbed my arms.

“Holly Cambridge.”

Lorenzo! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! I was beyond fucked! “Lorenzo,” I greeted levelly, not showing the panic and dread I felt.

“Are you disappointed, princess? Got all wet expecting my brother to be here waiting to fuck your brains out? Yeah. You two spent a lot of time here. Didn’t you?” He looked over at the bed and my skin crawled.

“Pull off the great escape, Lorenzo?” I asked as if we were just having conversation.

He grinned. “You’d like that, wouldn’t you? At least then you might think you had a fighting chance to make it out of this alive. Hate to disappoint you again, sweet-cheeks, but no one is looking for me. No APB’s. No SWAT teams coming to save you. I’m out. All legal-like. I made bail. Good for me.” He stood and approached. “Bad for you.”

He gripped my chin tightly. I glared at him.

“He always did like the pretty ones.”

“Ya want us to leave ya, boss?”

I tensed. I’d rather have my brains blown out right now then endure that.

I wasn’t going to go down without a fight. I was armed. But I’d have to plan correctly. There were three of them. Lorenzo must have remembered our last meeting, and he anticipated some kind of actionor he read it in my eyes. He stepped back.

“No. Not here,” he answered his henchman’s question. “I’ve got other plans for her. Get her down to the car. Try not to attract too much attention. She’s slippery. And you,” he addressed, me pointedly. “Behave yourself, or it’ll just be worse for you later. Don’t scream,” he warned.

“Sorry to disappoint you, Lorie, I’m not a screamer.”

He chuckled, and sickly, it reminded me of Victor.

The two goons started to drag me out and down the stairs as he followed. I’d behave. Until we got outside. That would be my chance.

Brenda was behind the bar. She eyed me as they escorted me out. Her mouth opened slowly as if it was just dawning on her who I was. I was blonde and green-eyed nowshe knew me as a blue-eyed brunette. And my picture had been plastered all over every newspaper, newscast and over the Internet for months now. She knew what was about to happen to me. She bowed her head and continued drying a glass.

Unfortunately, when we got outside, there were two more wise-guys and a driver waiting. I still had to try. I had nothing to lose. If I stayed with them, I knew I would die.
I stamped on the instep of the guy to my right. He howled and his grip loosened. I yanked my braced arm out of his grasp and I punched the other guy in the face.

Lorenzo grabbed a fist full of my hair from behind and shoved me against the SUV. My breath rushed out painfully. I was trapped between the vehicle and his big body.

He pulled on my hair. “I could end you right here.”

“But you won’t. What would be the fun in that for you? You have other plans for me. Cat and mouse time, Lorie?”

“Smart mouth. You really are a surprise, Holly. Back in the day, I would never have thought you had any life in you at all. Miss Priss that you were. I like this much better. It’s too bad, really. I might have enjoyed you when Vicki grew tired of you. He would have, you know. Eventually. He’s not a one woman kinda guy.”

I don’t know why it hurt me, but it did. It had his desired effect, but I didn’t let him know he’d gotten to me.

He ground his hips against my ass. To my revulsion, he had an erection. I swallowed convulsively and tried not to shudder. “And if we’re going to play cat and mouse, sweetheart,” he said, his hot breath scalding my neck. “You get to be the pussy.”

I felt sick to my stomach.

“Now you be a good girl and get in the car.”

One of the guards opened the door. Lorenzo kept a tight hold on my hair as he twisted my right arm painfully behind my back. He guided me into the SUV and pushed me into a sitting position.

He got in beside me and his bulk pushed me farther over. Another man got in the other side. I was trapped between them. Lorenzo pulled my arms out.

“I guess I should have taken the time to pat you down, sweet thing. Might have been fun. I don’t trust you. Take her arm.” He told the wise-guy beside me. The guy promptly snatched my wrist and held it tightly. Lorenzo seized my right hand and slid it into his crotch. “Aww, I get the fucked up hand? Geez, I was hoping to get a good hand job before our little trip was over.” He took my fisted hand and ground his hard-on against my brace and fist. I gritted my teeth trying not to make the sound of disgust that was climbing from my throat.

“What ya got in that thing, cupcake? It’s nice and hard, just like me.”

I didn’t answer. Along with the steel spines that made up the brace, I had a weapon. But there were too many of them and only one of me. I’d only be able to wound one and by then the rest of them would be on me. I was well and truly fucked!
